Bucharest Airports: record air traffic in 2015
Bucharest Airports National Company registered, in 2015, a record number of 9.287.554 passengers and 108.566 aircraft movements (landings and take-offs) on the two airports of the Capital - Bucharest Henri Coanda International airport and Bucharest-Baneasa Aurel Vlaicu International Airport. Out of the total, 9.274.629 passengers and 97.218 aircraft movements were recorded on Henri Coanda Airport.
As compared to 2014, the number of passengers who transited Bucharest airports in 2015 recorded a relevant increase of 11,6%.
The evolution of the passengers’ number on the two airports exceeds the general European trend. Furthermore, the number of aircraft movements increased on Bucharest airports, going beyond the European trend once more. Thereby, last year the number of aircraft movements on Bucharest airports increased with almost 6,4 % as compared to the same period of 2014.
31 airlines are currently operating on Bucharest Henri Coanda International Airport, carrying passengers to 70 destinations.

Bucharest Airports National Company commenced functioning on February the 5th, 2010, ensuring the operational coordination and the management of the two airports in Bucharest. The company was set up following the merger of the two companies managing at that time Bucharest’s airports: Bucharest Henri Coanda International Airport and Bucharest-Baneasa Aurel Vlaicu International Airport.
