CNAB: passenger traffic growth and profit of 78 million euro in 2013

Bucharest airports registered an increase of 5.4% of the passenger traffic in December 2013, for the second month in a row the increase surpassing five percent, and all this as a result of the sustained efforts of Bucharest Airports National Company (BANC) to attract new airlines and to increase the number of routes operated from Bucharest.

Financially, BANC recorded a preliminary total income of 643.780.184 lei in 2013, with 5% higher than in 2012. The preliminary gross profit of BANC reached 78.003.701 lei in 2013, more than three times higher than the budgeted one. In 2013, the preliminary accomplished turnover of BANC was of 613.010.561 lei, with an increase of 10% compared to 2012.

In 2013, the two airports of Bucharest, Henri Coandă International Airport and Baneasa Aurel Vlaicu International Airport recorded 7,649,503 passengers and 95,984 aircraft movements (landings and take-offs). The passenger traffic recorded an increase of 1,35 compared to 2012.

In 2013, 84% of the passengers of Bucharest Henri Coanda International Airport travelled to/from airports in the EU states.

At Bucharest Henri Coandă International Airport (BHCIA) currently operate 34 airlines, carrying passengers to 71 destinations. In 2013, two new carriers began to operate on BHCIA: easyJet and Air Serbia; starting March 2014, Ryanair will operate regular flights on Henri Coandă Airport.
