Increasing air traffic on Bucharest airports in 2010


Bucharest Airports National Company recorded in 2010 on the capital’s two airports – Bucharest Henri Coanda International Airport and Bucharest Baneasa Aurel Vlaicu International Airport – a total traffic of 7.036.102 passengers and 106.685 commercial aircraft movements (landings and take-offs).

As compared to the same period of the previous year, he passengers traffic on Henri Coanda International Airport increased in 2010 with almost 10%, reaching 4.917.952 passengers while the number of commercial aircraft movements increased with approximately 6% to 76.966 landings and take-offs operated on the two runways of this airport.

41% of the passengers who were boarded in 2010 on Henri Coanda Airport travelled to Schengen member states.

Bucharest Baneasa Aurel Vlaicu International Airport also recorded for 2010 a positive evolution as compared to 2009, having a 7,5% passengers traffic increase (2.118.150 passengers) and a 10,7% commercial aircraft movements increase (29.719 landings and take-offs).

 Bucharest Airports National Company (CNAB) was set up by the merger of the companies which were managing Bucharest’s two airports, namely Bucharest Henri Coanda International Airports and Bucharest Baneasa Aurel Vlaicu International Airport. CNAB commenced its activity on 11.02.2010 and provides the management and operational coordination of the two airports, also conducting their development and modernization projects.
