Taxi transportation at Bucharest Henri Coandă International Airport

Since the 1^st of April 2016, only taxi cabs complying with all legal norms and whose drivers have obtained all necessary permits in order to legally carry out taxi activity at the airport from state institutions can access Henri Coandă Airport. April 1, 2016 deadline was set at the request of the taxi companies.

Companies holding taxi terminals in Henri Coandă Airport were informed by Bucharest Airports National Company since June 2015 about the implementation of these measures regarding the legal taxi activity at the airport.

Henri Coandă Airport administration facilitates passengers’ access to taxi cabs request inside the airport and, in cooperation with state authorities, takes appropriate measures to provide access only to complying taxi drivers and cars, aiming, primarily, to passengers’ security and safety.

Currently, approximately 500 taxi drivers have already fulfilled all the conditions necessary to work at Henri Coandă Airport and can drive passengers without restriction.

The taxi activity at Bucharest Henri Coanda International Airport is performed in strict accordance to Law 38/2003 regarding taxi transportation with subsequent amendments, and the requirements of state authorities in this field, translated into "CNAB/AIHCB Regulation concerning passengers’ transport by taxi ".

In this respect, it is denied access at the airport for taxi vehicles with trunks smaller than 500 litres, for taxi drivers with criminal record; notifications from state institutions are mandatory (Air Transport Police, Border Police).
