Battle flag belonging to a legion of Avram Iancu exhibited at Henri Coanda Airport

The battle flag belonging to a legion of Avram Iancu will be exhibited at Bucharest Henri Coanda International Airport, beginning Thursday, November 3, 2016.

The event is part of a tour promoting the flag and will be exhibited in several locations across the country this year.

For 30 days, until November 4, passengers will see this flag exhibited in Henri Coanda Airport’s New Departures Terminal.

The battle flag of one of Avram Iancu’s legions is considered an object of absolute rarity. Experts from Oradea Museum confirmed that the object dates back to the middle of the nineteenth century, as in precisely during the 1848-1849 revolution.

The flag is square, mainly made from leather and has a sewed icon on it embroidered with silver thread on the margins, representing the Pentecost on one sideand Ascension Day on the other. The Romanian’s flag colors are sewn on the margins.
